Meet Heather, Owner and CEO
Heather is the CEO and founder of Loving Hands, a journey she began in October 2016. The organization officially opened its doors on January 2, 2017, in Airdrie, Alberta, before relocating to Calgary on April 1, 2021.
In January 2024, Loving Hands made history as the first agency to secure a government contract with PDD, earning a Level 1 accreditation status with a complex needs designation (ACDS).
With over 40 years of experience in the seniors and disabilities sector, Heather’s professional career began in 1982 as a psychiatric nurse. She obtained her Human Services Counselling certification in 1984 and her Recreation certification in 2016.

Meet Ian, Chief Operating Officer
Ian plays a vital role at Loving Hands, serving as Payroll Administrator, Occupational Health and Safety Officer, and contributing to other essential functions that support the agency’s operations.
Married to Loving Hands’ CEO, Heather, Ian officially became a partner in 2021. While his professional background is rooted in the dental field, Ian has been an integral part of the organization since its inception, bringing his dedication and expertise to the team.

Meet Tanya, Director Of Operations
Tanya brings over 30 years of experience in her field, holding a diploma in Addiction and Community Health Services along with numerous certifications.
Originally from New Brunswick, Tanya relocated to Calgary in 1998 and has since dedicated her career to supporting individuals with complex needs, taking on various specialized roles throughout her journey.
As a valued member of Loving Hands, Tanya actively contributes to the Occupational Health and Safety team and represents the organization at the Calgary Service Provider Council (CSPC). She became a member of the Loving Hands family in 2022, bringing her expertise and passion to the team.

Meet Ana, General Manager
Ana, originally from Colombia, has been dedicated to supporting individuals in vulnerable situations since 2010. She earned her Social Work designation in June 2015 and, after relocating to Calgary in May 2019, continued her impactful work in the disability sector.
As General Manager, Ana brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. In 2023, she earned her “Train the Trainer” certification for Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and also facilitates the organization’s Spanish program.
Ana joined the Loving Hands family in October 2019, initially volunteering with the high-needs Autistic group, and has since become an integral part of the team.

Meet Cristie, Finance Manager
Cristie, a Calgary native, became a valued member of the Loving Hands team in 2023. With over a decade of experience in both the disability sector and finance, she brings a well-rounded and diverse skill set to her role.
Cristie is deeply committed to supporting individuals both personally and professionally, serving as a passionate advocate for the disability community.
In her finance role, Cristie oversees the preparation of financial reports, ensures compliance with federal and provincial regulations, and monitors funds to support the organization’s daily operations. Her expertise and dedication make her an integral part of the Loving Hands team.

Meet Christian, Senior Team Lead
Christian, originally from the Philippines, brings a diverse and impressive range of qualifications to the Loving Hands team.
He holds RN certifications recognized in both the United States and Canada, along with a Law degree, a master’s in Education, and certifications as a Professional Teacher and Registered Midwife. Christian is also a graduate of the Juris Doctor program, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.
Joining Loving Hands in January 2023, Christian quickly advanced to the role of Senior Team Lead. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he serves as a Train-the-Trainer for the organization’s Abuse Protocol and Positive Practices training, making him an invaluable asset to the team.

Team Leaders

Eden Nicdao
Eden has over 15 years of experience in the medical field, including a meaningful period working with individuals with developmental challenges in the Philippines. In 2021, Eden and their family relocated to Canada, embracing new opportunities and experiences. Fluent in Filipino, Eden is passionate about sharing this beautiful language with those eager to learn.
With strengths in positivity, empathy, and calmness, Eden considers her career path a privilege and an opportunity to support individuals in reaching their full potential. They cherish the connections made along the way, celebrating the beauty and resilience in every person, regardless of their challenges.

Estrella Magat
Estrella has seven years of experience in the education sector in the Philippines and over thirteen years in the hospitality industry. After relocating to Canada, Estrella pursued studies at East West College, earning a degree as a Community Social Worker. During this time, they completed their practicum with Loving Hands Partner in Care.
Bringing a wealth of positivity, calmness, enthusiasm, patience, and compassion, Estrella excels in supporting clients with special needs. Their adaptability and eagerness to learn new skills make them a valuable addition to the Loving Hands team. Outside of work, Estrella enjoys cooking, dancing, and singing, bringing energy and creativity to every aspect of their life.

Amanda Mitchell
Amanda serves as a Team Leader at Loving Hands, focusing on bringing joy and positivity to individuals every day. With extensive experience working with complex needs, Amanda is deeply passionate about building meaningful connections, fostering kindness, and creating enriching experiences. They view their role as both a privilege and an opportunity to engage in work they truly love.
Being part of Loving Hands Partner in Care has been an invaluable experience for Amanda, contributing to their growth as a Support Worker. The tools, resources, and support provided by the organization continue to enhance their knowledge and skills, allowing them to make a lasting impact in the lives of those they serve.

Jemima Julian
Jemima has completed studies in Community Support Services and brings a diverse background of training and experience to their role. Before relocating to Canada, Jemima trained as a Physical Therapist and earned a Caregiver Certification as a Child Care Staff member through Alberta Children and Youth Services.
As a dedicated and compassionate caregiver, Jemima is committed to providing exceptional support and care. Joining Loving Hands Partner in Care has been a meaningful step in their journey, offering opportunities to further develop their skills and knowledge as a support worker through the organization’s comprehensive tools and resources.
